SHP
Class of "61" 50th Reunion History
Reunion
History:
25
Years. In 1986, with Tom Powell as the reunion
chairman, we staged our 1st reunion at a North Jersey Hotel.
We had a terrific turnout and the entire class owes Tom
a debt of gratitude for his initiative and leadership. For

30
Years. In 1991, we reunited for a weekend getaway
in the Poconos at the Mountain Laurel Resort. Fr. Joe Sherer
was our guest of honor and fellow grad and Maryknoller Ken
Moody celebrated Mass. Departing from a more traditional
format of a 1 nite affair, the extra time was devoted to
strengthening our Prep bond of 35 years. Both Joe Fabricatore
and Jeff Gausepohl jetted in from the West Coast. The turnout
was small yet the rewards were huge.

35
Years. In 1996, the Prep took the reigns and hosted,
at the SHU Student Union Bldg., a reunion for all classes
that ended in 1. The turnout for our class was limited but
the affair was nicely done by the Prep Alumni office. For

50
Years. In 2011, on the weekend
of June 3-5, the "61" reunion committee in concert
with the Prep Alumni Office, conducted a memorable golden
anniversary class reunion. Building upon our past reunions,
the class of "61" refreshed those great memories,
renewed old friendships, and strengthened the lifelong bonds
with fellow classmates. It was truly an inspiring and memorable
weekend capped with our 50th anniversary graduation ceremony.
